From Teresa Gunther: Urgent need for prayers for our great-nephew, Jarren!

This is from Teresa Gunther. Please join us as we lift up Jarren and his family at this extremely difficult time. Thank you and God bless you and your familes, Teri & Michael (see below)

Michael and Terri and all the St. Agatha Prayer Community.....  This is the latest news regarding our 4 yr. old  great-nephew who is fighting liver cancer that has spread.   Please keep him and all his family in prayer.   Thanks so much to all of you.    Teresa & Ron Gunther

This is the posting his mother, Heather, placed on Caring Bridges today:
Truth be told I have spent the latter part of the afternoon in tears as well as this evening as I type.  The news today was not good.  The tumor in Jarren's chest is growing at an alarming rate despite the chemo he was given.  We have only a few options left as far as chemo is concerned; Jarren's oncologist is consulting with one of the lead Hepatoblastoma specialists to decide/confirm treatment plan.  We were supposed to be admitted today after his scan but this is postponed until tomorrow until Dr. Anderson hears back from Dr. Malogolokin at CHLA.

We were told that surgery is not an option given the area that the tumor is in.  It's in the middle of his chest, toward the right side but outside his lungs and surrounded by his airway structures.  I don't have exact measurements...my head was spinning.

I will answer the question many of you, I'm sure, may be wondering but afraid to ask.  What's this mean?  Medically speaking, Jarren's chances of surviving this are slim to none.  Therefore, it is of UTMOST importance that I ask you to continue to join us in prayer for miraculous healing that we know the Lord can deliver for our son.

Prayer for the Sick
Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us. Amen.

To Saint Peregrine

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker," because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you. (Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are praying) Jarren.

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy. Amen.
