Big News on August 11th Prayer Rally for Health Reform

Dear Leaders,

Please make every effort to show your values and power as people of faith on:

Tues, August 11th at 9:45 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 6657 W. Sunset Blvd. (parking one block north on Selma).

We just confirmed Congressman Xavier Becerra for August 11th at our prayer rally for health reform. Not only is he a congressman, but he is a rising star in the House and one of the top five leadership. He is key ally in the health reform effort, and he is key to future immigration reform. While this event is on health reform, don't think he won't notice if we're powerful and disciplined. This is an opportunity to impact the fight for a national health care reform that serves all of our families, and it is an opportunity to show Rep. Becerra that LA Voice is a good ally to have.

We may also have Rep. Watson, and Rep. Waters at our event. The purpose is for us to stand with them and show them that there are as many people who support reform as those who oppose it, and that we are powerful too.

August 11th is the PICO National Network day of action on Health Care Reform. Across the country, PICO affiliates like us will be hosting rallies and press conferences and visiting over 100 congressional offices telling them that we're taking NO RECESS FOR HEALTH REFORM.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
1) IF YOU CAN MAKE IT, COME. IF YOU CAN BRING OTHERS, DO SO. (We know it is a morning event and that work may not allow).

2) IF YOU HAVE A POWERFUL STORY about how lack of health insurance is affecting you and/or your family, LET US KNOW. We will want to share powerful stories of how  the current system is putting our families and members under economic, physical, and emotional stress. Call me if you or someone you know has a story to share.

3) IF YOU CAN'T COME, SEND SOMEONE IN YOUR PLACE

4) PRAY FOR US! Pray for an uninterrupted, powerful rally of love that gets our message across respectfully and clearly: that we value human life as God does, and that we cannot  stand for a system that let's our brothers, sisters, mothers, and children go through pain and suffering unnecessarily

Email or call me if you will attend. If you have any questions, email or call me. The message of this event is positive and that health reform must continue to move forward.

Peace and Blessings,

Zach
