This is from Dorothy, and we are so sad to pass along the news that her long time friend and chorale conductor, Chip Stam has passed away after a long fight with cancer. We pray for the repose of his soul and especially for his family and loved ones he leaves behind to mourn; that they are blessed with comfort and strength in their grief and also courage from Christ Jesus to continue, while their worlds are forever changed. May they be graced by the Holy Spirit with the gifts of Faith and Hope. We are already blessed by Chip's gift of Love through his music which will endure through the ages. Could you please ask the Prayer Warriors to send up a special prayer in remembrance of my college musical chorale conductor, Carl "Chip" Stam, who passed away just an hour ago after a long battle with lymphoma. I had requested prayers so many times before, and they were so lovingly treasured by him and his family. Chip was a sweet, wonderful person, and his faith remained steadfast to the very end, listening to his daughter read Revelation 21, I Thess 5 and Psalm 121, as they lovingly sung Ps 23 as he sweetly passed.
Attached is a video of him conducting one of his final concerts, to the beautiful music of Lohengrin.

Almighty God, through the death of your Son on the cross, you have overcome death for us. Through his burial and resurrection from the dead you have made the grave a holy place and restored us to eternal life. We pray for those who died believing in Jesus and are buried with him in the hope of rising again. God of the living and the dead, may those who faithfully believed in you on earth praise you for ever in the joy of heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of Solace
May Christ support us all the day long, till the shadows lengthen, and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over and our work is done. Then in his mercy may he give us a safe lodging, and holy rest and peace at the last.
