Prayer Request - Gertrude Jones (close friend of Ethel's)

Dear Prayer Warriors,

Please pray for Gertrude Jones. Not only is Gertrude a close friend of Ethel Guntharp's but she is also a member of the St. Agatha family and a friend of ours too. She was in a terrible car accident yesterday which put her in the hospital (Harbor General) and also totaled her car. As of this afternoon she was in the trauma center of the hospital suffering from many contusions to her body especially her knees, possible broken ribs from the air bags, a cut on her knee and bruises on her face. Gertrude is in her 80's which makes the healing process more difficult. We pray that God take away her pain and heal her quickly so she is able to come home as soon as possible.

Please also pray for Gertrude's husband, James Jones, who is suffering from Alzheimer's. Gertrude has been struggling with his illness for quite some time now. She was in the process of getting him transferred to St. John of God's Alzheimer's unit. Please pray that God make a smooth transition for "Jones" (as he is known) and that God relieves all of Gertrude's stress surrounding this situation. Please pray that they both find strength, courage and peace in dealing with this terrible disease.

Prayer for Healing
Lord, look upon Gertrude with eyes of mercy, may Your healing hand rest upon her, may Your life giving powers flow into every cell of her body and into the depths of her soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring her to wholeness and strength for service in Your Kingdom. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE SICK
Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.
