This is the most difficult time for all of them in their entire lives and holding on to faith in Jesus Christ is the first and last hope for them and for all of us. Michael and Teri,   Please ask our praying community to continue prayers for our great-nephew, Jarren.    The latest news on his liver/lung cancer is devastating.  We continue to keep him  in our prayers and know that God is always with him and the family.   Thanks so much to all of you for your prayers and kind words.   Teresa & Ron Gunther This was info posted by his Mom on "Caring Bridge" today, Friday: FRIDAY, JULY 30, 2010 2:53 PM, PDT The  most sobering news that we've been told this year: Cancer is back.  Tumors have spread..  Lung resection surgery needed.  Another liver resection needed.  "We got it all", AFP dropping.  Nevermind, elation short-lived.  It's back again.  There are more.  Inoperable.  Zero-5% chance of survival.  ZERO TO FIVE, that stung.  Clinically speaking, best we can hope for is STABLE disease while maintaining balance of QUALITY of life.  Oh my goodness this hurts.  I can't breath.  These are the facts. I am so thankful that the God we believe in and serve is bigger than all this.  He is not bound by statistics, by modern medicine, surgeries and facts that leave little to no hope. Throughout this journey Jason and I delved deeper into ourselves, focused on the Lord and been pulled out of the depths of dispair.  The Lord hears our cries and prayers.  He catches our falling tears.  He has shown us compassion and mercy.  Jarren has been spared so many of the horrific side effects during chemo.  We have clung tighter to our families than ever before.  Relationships have been restored, anewed and formed.  We've witnessed compassion and kindness in complete strangers.  People have given so much of themselves for us.  We are so grateful. We will continue to hold tight to our FAITH and we continue to have HOPE.  There is always hope.  Jarren IS hope. Please say a prayer for our friend Tyler.  His transplant was a success but a recent CT revealed new tumors in his lungs. Prayer for the Sick Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us. Amen. Prayer for the Sick Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest your weary ones. Bless your dying ones. Soothe your suffering ones. Pity your afflicted ones. Shield your joyous ones. And for all your love's sake. Amen.
