Prayer Request from Joc: Mr. Silva, Rest In Peace

This is from Joc, and he is passing along a request (from someone he helped named Rachel), asking that we pray for the repose of the soul of Mr. Silva, his family, and those who witnessed his passing. Thank you for your prayers and after reading this we need to say, "Jesus help us!" God bless you and your families, Teri & Michael (see below)

Hello Michael,
Please ask the "Prayer Warriors" to add this request to their prayers for all parties involved.
Thank You.
Joc

Dear Mr. Maultsby,
I am sending you this message in hopes of prayer. A week ago there was a man by the name of David Silva that showed up at Kern Medical Center (County Hospital) here in Bakersfield, CA. Mr. Silva went there asking the hospital for help with his alcoholism. he was turned away by hospital staff and asked to leave and go seek help somewhere else. as Mr. Silva made his way out of the hospital, hospital staff called the police dept. and reported Mr. Silva being intoxicated. Mr. Silva fell asleep on the sidewalk. At the same time my friends Selena & Melissa Quair walked out of the hospital after visiting their brother that was in a serious car accident. when they walked out of the hospital they witnessed a police car approach Mr. Silva, the officer then tried to lift Mr. Silva up from the sidewalk-not in a nice helping manner, then the officer pulled out his baton and started striking Mr. Silva with it as other officers arrived and started striking Mr. Silva as my friends watch in dismay and started video taping the incident on their cell phones. There were eight officer's involved that my friend Selena counted as she was talking to 911 on the phone. The news states, their were only 7 officers. Mr. Silva passed away that night in the hands of officer's that are suppose to be here to serve & protect us all. Mr. Maultsby, first I would like to thank you for being there for me when my son was a victim of a homicide, your prayers, your patience even at my worst times through the phone you have and continue to be there for me. I don't know Mr. Silva personally, but it sadden's me, because this is not fair. I ask you if you and prayer warrior's that you know to please pray for Mr. Silva, his family, my friends that witnessed this horrible event that should of never happened, also the children that are involved. for protection that no harm come to any of them. It sadden's my heart as to what is taking place in this world - it is so sad, especially when innocent people have their lives taken at the hands of another and try and a lot of times get away with it. I know this so well, because, as you know, my son,my self and my family have been victimized by the legal system. It's just not fair...thank you for your time in this matter. We all need to pray everyday

In Loving Memory
Almighty God, through the death of Your Son on the cross, You have overcome death for us. Through his burial and resurrection from the dead You have made the grave a holy place and restored us to eternal life. We pray for those who died believing in Jesus and are buried with him in the hope of rising again. God of the living and the dead, may those who faithfully believed in You on earth praise You forever in the joy of heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR MIRACLES & HEALING

Heavenly Father, I trust in Your great love for me and all Your people. I ask You to unleash a wave of miracles and healing throughout Your church through the prayers of Your people. Touch the sick and the suffering, and restore them to wholeness and well-being. Lord Jesus, I ask for the grace to pray with expectant faith for my brothers and sisters who are hurting and in need of Your healing touch. Holy Spirit, open my eyes to see the kingdom of God all around me. Help me to recognize Your presence and Your work in the people I meet, and to be responsive to people I encounter that are in need of prayer.  In the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
